Inspiring event to feature a diverse and eclectic roster of speakers; Positive ideas for the world from Detroit; Tickets on sale now

TEDxDetroit, the premier gathering of leading entrepreneurs, creatives, engineers, educators and artists from Detroit and across Michigan, announces the first group of confirmed speakers who will take to the stage at Detroit’s historic Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, October 26.

TEDxDetroit features the best and brightest minds sharing their passion, insights, and ideas worth spreading. Attendees are immersed in positive ideas that are delivered through TED Talks videos and live speakers to spark deep discussion, connection and cross-pollination.

The speaker roster features a full day of curated content that balances the left brain and right brain: academics, artists, investors, entrepreneurs and innovators. TEDxDetroit 2022 will again feature a diverse and eclectic roster of speakers with highlights including:

  • Dr. Stefan Tongur – the Electric Road Systems engineer leading the development of the first ERS project in North America – right here in Michigan.
  • Sarah Welch, Top Chef contestant and head chef at Marrow, a restaurant in the words of SEEN magazine “that facilitates endless discovery; however often you go, the menu is likely to be different than it was during your last visit.”
  • Benji Rosenzweig – this dad to a special-needs daughter will explore the power of non-verbal communication and how it’s enhanced through music.
  • Rochelle Riley – the Director of Arts and Culture for the City of Detroit will discuss the intersection of race and education and how we can teach kids to accomplish things.

Plus magic, music, and insights from the future of food, energy, transportation, finance, and communication.

“The team is thrilled to be bringing TEDx back to Detroit for the 14th time. Every year we fill the stage with innovators, motivators and “do greaters” who make us all proud to call this area home,” said Terry Bean, executive producer and community director for TEDxDetroit. “We have another stellar slate of presenters who will show the diversity, creativity and leadership of Detroit, and I can’t wait for October 26th at The Music Hall.”

A roster of confirmed speakers to date can be found on the TEDxDetroit speakers page.
