The annual celebration of big ideas heads to the historic Marygrove Conservancy on November 4, pairing hands-on TEDxLabs with an afternoon of talks in the Marygrove Theatre

TEDxDetroit returns for its 18th year, bringing together the region’s leading thinkers, designers, entrepreneurs, educators, scientists and artists for an afternoon of storytelling, collaboration and connection on Wednesday, November 4 at the Marygrove Conservancy in Detroit. Tickets are on sale now.

Doors open at 1:00pm with the TEDxLabs expo followed by speakers in the Marygrove Theatre. The event wraps before 5pm.

The annual gathering spotlights the people, companies and ideas that make Detroit a great place to live, work and play. Attendees will hear from a lineup of creative minds whose talks are designed to spark bold thinking and turn it into action across the city.

A venue worthy of its own talk

This year’s setting is practically a TED Talk on its own. With roots dating back to 1905, the campus was home to Marygrove College until 2019. Today, the 53-acre campus and its Tudor and Gothic buildings anchor a one-of-a-kind cradle-to-career educational community, with a primary school, university center, startup businesses and an arts enclave all working together as an educational, economic and civic anchor for the surrounding neighborhoods.

The talks take place in the Marygrove Theatre, but the experience extends across the grounds. Through TEDxLabs, attendees will explore the campus and get hands-on with an interactive showcase of Detroit business, technology and creativity.
